I don’t care for black cars but have long been a fan of that Andretti car.

specialtyoneinc 07-19-2019 07:05 AM

PPI is must since coming from RMC ;) Cars have been on the market for a long time....

Maybe because it's navy blue!:D

;) Yes it is. But it's so close it sets off my black alarm. I would never want to own it for the same reasons I hate black cars. It's gonna be hot. It's going to scratch and swirl really easily and be a nightmare to keep clean. Call it blackish.

They have an interesting collection of cars but a ppi is a must. An Oak Green 930 with RUF bits they have is really nice but they have the story on that car completely wrong. i.e. claiming it was built by RUF...which it wasn't. Nevertheless they seem to obtain cool cars..

According to Kremer, this 935 street 2, completed October 1984 build info, for AL Copeland's insurance company ( Popeyes chicken founder ) who owned it from 1986 till his passing in 2008. Additionally there was also a dark blue one that was reportedly built for him ( probably the one @ Mecum auction ), was written about in a article when interviewing people @ DP by a French magazine. Sounds like more than one has a claim of a street 935 being built for him. The dark colors look great on the 935 style, neat DP. http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1563555285.jpg

My DP 935 II is the long windshield version as well, though it’s in project form unfortunately. Seeing this one makes me want to start that project. Knowing it’ll cost a lot and take a long time, though, is what’s prevented me from starting it yet.

My other DP 935 would round out that auction pretty well, they're missing a turbo cab version.

Good find Nathan, though I have seen all of these before except for the long windshield version, as the rest are local to me. Knowing how much RMC Miami is asking for the blue one, I kinda doubt these will sell, that is assuming the reserves are in line with their current asking prices. It’ll be interesting to monitor though, that’s for sure.

Did not Mecum get this one to auction, but was NS? My favorite DP. It was a Kremer 1976 K2 single turbo 934. A while ago DP fitted it with a 962 motor ( heard ) @ 800HP. Lots of mine would need to find new homes. I guess I could rent out the space where those cars used to be. What a car!! Think I would take it before what DP's currently are being offered @ Monterey. Looks like DP used the similar treatment of this 77 to the rear of the 92" last one built". Someone buy it so I can have some peace.http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1563848206.jpg

The rear. The last one built would be a close second on my list. John Starkey drove this one @ a rennsport reunion and remarked it was very fast.

I love the Car and Driver car. My Quarter Midget was painted the exact same way in 82.

So that’s what he calls it...Does the quarter refer to the girth and the midget refer to the height?!?
I guess that’s at least better than if he called it a dime midget!

Matt Monson 07-23-2019 03:08 PM

Sounds a bit of a choad.
