Reverse Mods prior to Sale ?
I'm thinking of putting my '87 911 3.2 Cab up for sale. What's the general consensus on reversing mods prior.
Here are the mods I've, done: 1. Installed Steve Wong Chip 2. Installed Fabspeed cat bypass (oem cat is fine and can be put back) 3. Installed 1 in 2 out sport muffler and dual rear valence 4. Heat backdate 5. 930S Steering Wheel (OEM is in great condition) 6. Removed 3rd brake light Otherwise, car is original, 3 owner. Thanks

I agree with Matt. Those mods are fairly desirable and easily remedied. Might even increase value.
Leave them be.

For maximum resale, ALWAYS put back the OEM steering wheel and Fuchs.
The other stuff gets a pass or adds value.

Just include the original parts in the sale for the next owner to reinstall if he wants to.

I bet half the shoppers looking at this car would think the 930S rep wheel is original.

As a general rule I go back to original if easily done. Best case scenario modds do not not lower the value of the car and most of the time it does lower the value or make the sell harder by limiting the market.
If you go back to original you can sell the hot rod parts here on PP for some beer money as gravy after selling the car. |

Steering wheel and muffler; they just look wrong to average buyer.

Doing nothing is easiest but this appears about right for me . .
Besides, I may want to try the 930S wheel on the 928 or next 911.

For the items you list, leave them and include the stock/OEM parts.
For items like seats, harness, bolt-in roll bars or harness bars, I'm more inclined to remove before sale. Quality items are quite expensive and I believe it does limit the market. |

Those are all good mods. Not sure they add value but they don’t subtract value in my opinion.
If you want another 911, I’d put the stock items back on and keep the ‘good stuff’ for your next 911. You won’t add value with a chip but you can sell it or hold onto it for later; same with exhaust mods. The 930S steering wheel is what these cars should’ve had. Thick grip and looks better than the factory wheels of the 80s.

Old guys like them. There was one on my car. I liked the feel but not the look. The fat MOMO looks and feels better to me. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

How old is old, ya' bisch?!?!
![]() I do not like that steering wheel, but the original one for his year 911 is a design abomination borrowed from a 1960's station wagon or bread delivery truck, so it is an improvement. I use a MOMO Mod 07 - love how it looks and the position of the wheel relative to the seat (very deep dished) but wish the grip was fatter. Maybe I'll get that bisch customized one of these days. |

I like those wheels, especially in Ruf alcantara trim. And they feel good, too. Much better than the late 80s stock wheel, which as Ronnie said are hideous.

I really want to like the four spoke but I can’t.

I’ve got an ancient race mark in my car. It was on my 70 when I bought it and I’ve put it on 6 cars since then.
