Price check: RUF Speedlines 8&9
I have a set of immaculate RUF Speedlines that I took off a 3.2 Carrera. Two 8", two 9". They are just sitting around in the garage so I decided to sell them.
What are those worth these days? I know the 9/10 combo can bring some serious dough. Closest benchmark I could find was this one here, but I think mine are in even nicer shape (pic below just has some dirt that). https://bringatrailer.com/listing/1993-porsche-ruf-speedline-wheels-8jx17-and-9jx17/ Thanks for the help, friends! ![]() |

Why not drop them on BAT to see what happens. I think $3500 maybe a little more. I just wish they weren’t so damn heavy.

Do they still have their factory original finish?
Are they date matched?

The early/original ones with stepped lips and lettering on the faces are worth a ton. The new version without those features are worthless.

At cars n coffee, they don't care about weight. There's street cred in having the originals versus a repop. Same thing with those basketweave 80s BBS wheels that have come back into vogue again.

I'm sure there is a reason but if RUF would have been able to collaborate with Speedline to produce new, forged, asthetically accurate and light(er)weight 17" wheels, they would have sold a LOT of them.

At 200mph they were worried the car would take flight.

Need the weight of the wheels to prevent flight ![]() ![]() Good to hear. I saved a set from when I reinstalled original Fuch on three 78 & 79 930s that had BBS changed out when they were new/ near new. Still have the cars so I reinstall on either one of them when at certain shows. Probably should have saved all three sets. Still have the 9 and 13 inch wide ones on the 84 Kremer from new. Those will always be kept on it. The early BBS wheels are very light weight.

Interesting convo, thanks everyone for the context.
Ok had some time to look at details in the garage: Wheels are date stamped 93 for the 9s and 90 for the 8s, all "Made in Italy". |

Thanks. Did you happen to make note of (or image) the date stamps? There are raised "dots" in a 12 place grid denoting month of manufacture.

Didn't. Time to take some proper pics tomorrow and I'll post those.
