This Countach is grossly underpriced.

If normal miles is a $250k car, this is a steal.

I drove one of those late 1989. It had fewer miles than that.

If it weren’t an anniversary model it would be underpriced, but it is. This is the ugly stepchild Countach.

I had a replica one here in early 2000, say 2002? It was red, and said by my friend to be THE car used in Cannon ball Run. Had a 350 Chev motor, Renault trans and an original Texas title. Should have kept it or shipped it back home because it looked like the real McCoy! Had a small crack in the windscreen which was hard to come by at the time as original parts. Bought it for 1K, put 1K on it and sold it to an Iranian friend. Back then none of us had a place to store/park it.

Then, my friend/neighbor 70 meters down the street has a real one in the garage. Never seen him drive it in 20 years! He bought it new and it's red. He's started it for me in the garage though. I bet this one has less KM than that and I didn't even open your link. Watanabe san would certainly show me the odometer and give me his value if you want.

Sorry sugarwood! I honestly spaced the other night. Watanabe's car is a red Testarossa. Same vintage, completely different kettle of fish. My bad.

I don't know about the price, but it's grossly "over styled". If you have to sit on the door sill to reverse the vehicle, someone in the styling studio missed the point.

If lazers don't shoot out of those rectangular front bumper "ornaments", then its a weird look.

It's funny how the 80s Countach is a ghastly body kitted abomination
just like the Slant Nose 911 or the Gemballa trash is to a stock 911.

Something to help unsee the 80s butchery

I think the 1980's era Lambos and Slantnose 911s look great and both look far more appealing than a run of the mill, visually bland 911.

Fantastic! 60 years ahead of its time. Unbelievable. I can only imagine what it must have been like for a person of 1971 to see a real car that you can buy and drive which looks more like a spaceship than most spaceships from sci-fi movies.

The 1971 truly looks like a concept car that never sees the light of day.

I loved the slantnose then and still do. In Italian cars I always favored Ferraris over Lambro. Hell, a Fiat x19 is a better looking car than a Countach.

Actually, the car shown in the photo *is* the concept car.

I've owned, sat in a replica that was true Real McCoy, except for the engine and tranny. My feeling then was it's worse than sitting in a sh-t hole driver's Vette seat, and I sh-t you not!

Also, those fat wheels with small diameter were so cool. They should make them like those again. I'm sick and tired of those goofy 21" grave digger rims.

The periscopio cars are far and away the best looking and pure to the original Gandini deisgn, the rest are just gross.

If you have ever been underneath and inside one of these you will notice how ghastly the fit and finish is, I would compare it to a kit car but then I would be giving most kit cars a bad name. They are riddled with poorly trimmed panels riveted onto the tubular frame structure, wiring sort of haphazardly ran throughout, just a shocking amount of mechanical clutter strewn everywhere.

It doesn't get much better driving one either, the seating position is bizarre with the low roof, extremely low windows and near zero side/ rear visibility. The car is crude feeling when driven normally and rather terrifying when driven hard, but I guess the terrifying part was part of the allure of the Countach. I will never forget driving one but it was like finding out your celebrity crush had HIV when I really got personal with it.

That's about the only thing I like about the originals. Those 13" campy wheels were the shyte.
