Flying is off the table.
That leaves you with one option.
Did you go look at the '86 in person yet?
If not, what are you waiting for?

G50 gearboxes cost twice as much to rebuild as a 915 and have clutch fork boss issues that can break and need costly repairs. They are worth more but cost more to own long term.

Haha, that must be why the marketplace puts a premium on the G50.

It's a Porsche. If the maintenance costs is a deal breaker, don't buy one.

Hey rw299,

Given 1K/year, I say go for the 30K, assuming everything else being relatively equal. 20K miles for $10-15K.

86 seller went silent after I agreed to his price. Kind of surprising as we seemed to hit it off. Maybe he didn't really want to sell or was impacted by COVID? (I hope not)

Good news is there are a couple more that have popped up...

87 GP white/burgundy coupe with 50k. Colors are not what I think I want, but it's local.
87 black/black coupe, close to 100k, has a full rebuild and very well sorted.

I'm speaking with both, but no hurry on my end and can/will wait for the right one.

Those both sound promising, but it sounds like you're not ready to pull the trigger just yet.
