Yet strangely predictable. You don’t need an S. You don’t even need a Porsche. Get a BRZ or Miata. How many times has he said that and then flipped out when others disagree? He’s a broken record.

Keep the SC and buy a car to compliment it. SC’s are Special and very engaging to drive. I have a near identical one to yours and In 9 years it has been difficult to replace. I believe you mentioned above you have A 70k Budget to spend. I would guess 35 k value in the SC and 35k for another car. There are plenty of cars to compliment the SC at the bottom of their depreciation and slowly appreciating. I have found most modern cars less engaging and too fast for the street.

Actually, already decided to unload the Jetta but still hard to do so. Good times in that thing, lots of memories and still fun to drive. It is crazy if you think about it.

I had an 88 Golf GT during my impressionable years so I know what you mean.

Fishing
This is basically a polite fishing expedition . Its a great SC with an old and probably not rebuilt engine and its had some track time and Im trying to get advice on what the car is worth ? The rest of the story is just a polite narrative .If you want to know what your car is worth provide some more info on chassis condition , how many broken lower studs and maybe how bad the trans shifts and then people will tell you the value . Inmop i would change the lights and put stock Fuchs that are not blacked out for a better profile . GLWS

You can always purchase another SC..... as nice as any one car is they can be duplicated..... unless you are talking McQueen's S.... and there were even two of those.....
I have had seven Pcars maybe eight had fun with all of them....... only two H2Os..... both shortest ownership and gone.

So, I still haven't decided what to do with the rest of the budget. One (maybe) last point of discussion. Are there any automatic trans Porsche's that come "close" to the PDK? |

Nobody drives the Jetta anymore, it's not really part of the equation other than taking up floor space. It's pretty much worthless to anyone but me anyway. Doesn't anyone have an old vehicle from younger days that doesn't make sense to keep but you just can't give it up?

Ran around in a 1990 GTi in the late 90s for a while. Roommate’s car but I drove it enough I had my own set of keys to it. Fun enough for a hot hatch.

I now we mentioned Cayman R and 997...
How did we overlook the 996 GT3 ! Clearlyarly the most analog of cars for the budget! Used one's are In the $60k range.

If his 78 sc went up for sale I would say it would go for more than $35k. It’s a pretty hard to find example and first year of the sc with the big port heads/no sunroof/ bright work trim/ no fogs. It’s a low option car- which will make the price go up.
