Nice early 930 on BAT
This is a very nice example (from the photos) of an early 930. This in my opinion is a much better buy than most of the backdate cars that show up on BAT. https://bringatrailer.com/listing/1977-porsche-911-turbo-carrera-11/?fbclid=IwAR3NY6-2j9W79_Y7ZSxZX6VsFqj3vx3jWAXijL9owqDbUq4pS00AdJbIB 1o

I dunno, it's kinda ratty looking for six figures--panel fit, trim, rear wiper(?!), interior, plus it's lived its whole life in snow country...I know, I know, folks love the 76 and 77 cars. Doesn't hold a candle to your car, Rey.

^^ thanks Mocker, I think the car needs some tlc but I would still take it over some backdate with a 3.2 stocker(that’s in similar condition). Seems like the engine has been gone through, the body on the other hand needs a nice strip down (for possible rust) and paint. I do like the color combination.

Mocker & speednme1 regarding the general condition, yes you said what I did not want to post on BAT. The underside was clean but looking rusty at some of the seams. And the rear wiper, huh? Wrench marks on the door hinge bolts. Maybe some other problems lurking ( you mention some of them ) after reassembly from the previous repaint to not want to keep it too long.
Still a nice driver in many regards ( other than previous repaint issues falling apart ) to challenge a perfectionist to take it to a level that match the miles. My unrestored original 77 with 63K miles has the same B & B exhaust but also have original which I would never reinstall as usually the cause of needed early rebuilds. It may get well into the six figures, ( otherwise likely a NS ) which is good for those of us who have one without the issues that were noted.

That '77 of yours, Anthony, is super nice, amazing colour. As for the yellow one, it is located supposedly in my backyard but I have never seen it around. Based on the invoices, it was in at Turn 3 and Jeff (the owner) is a very active member here, they also service my 911. If anyone was interested, Jeff would be the guy I would go to for a PPI even though they had serviced it previously for the current owner. I see it didn't hammer at $100K, that to us Canadians is around $127,000 and seems like a good number to sell at. I guess they are looking for more based on the low mileage.

No sale at $100k. No surprise, as the seller bought it for $120k in 2016.
Discuss amongst yerselves. |

Interesting, and for certain, seems the seller is looking for a lot more than $100k based on the comments. Anyway good luck to him as he moves forward. He definitely had a lot of eyes on the car over the auction's life span.
