East coast "gas shortage"

Is anyone else seeing the gas shortage "mania"? In suburban Charlotte the nuts were hard at it yesterday. I watched a young female driver accelerate out of a parking lot through the "gas wait line", and T-bone the car in front of me. She just kept going.
Hit and run right in front of me.
In this area, almost all of the "regular" gas is gone. "Mid grade" is scarce. "Premium" is still readily available.
People will wait in line for over 30 minutes for regular or mid grade.
If the difference in cost for filling the average 15 gallon tank with premium is roughly $5.00, and the average sheeple will wait in line 30 minutes for regular fuel, that puts the value of their "sheeple time" at well under $10/hour.
To access a commodity that they normally do not own 15 gallons of. WTF?!?!?!

Part of the issue is the gas trucks can’t get into the gas stations due to the knuckleheads forming those ridiculously long lines….

I’m glad this wasnt the society we had before WWII…

Great way for energy giants to make some quick money from a media generated scarcity.

I don't know how to post the video, but there's another one of a woman filling plastic shopping bags with gas. When she ties it and realizes it won't sit without spilling, she grabs a second bag and double bags her gas, like that will make a difference.

I think that "lady" likely has plenty of gas. Unfortunately, it's methane rather than octane.

Here in Miami our gas mainly comes from Port Everglades via Ocean tankers. It don't take much for the internet to cause chaos, crazy.

Oh, is that a thing? I left the house with a full battery this morning. I frequently forget gas stations actually exist.

Or, like me, you can live in the city and ride a bicycle to work. Or walk to the grocery store, for that matter.

We did this to ourselves by designing our neighborhoods and "lifestyles" in a way that make us dependent on cars.

I have a friend who's only way out of his neighborhood is via a limited access highway. Feckin' ridiculous.

Just heard the line is starting back up. It may take a few day longer to normalize supply as there is a shortage of tanker truck drivers.

Please help me here. Does an electric car generate it's own energy? I think that violates a certain law of thermodynamics. Or maybe the energy comes from a dirty, CO2/sulfur spewing coal fired steam turbine plant. Or possibly a plutonium fired reactor/steam generator. Are those "environmentally friendly"? Maybe it's from a river choking/fish killing hydroelectric station.
Please tell me that all electric car power comes from windmills and solar panels. I would continue to feel superior if I knew that all my transportation energy was "environmentally friendly". And my feces would continue to be odor free.

Hey, I don't have to wait in long lines for gas. Have a great day.
