Possible PPI in LA Area?

Hi gang. Im looking at a SC at Bev Hills Car Club. I know they have mixed reviews. Im wondering if you can recommend someone to look over the car (for a fee, of course).

Much appreciated. Thank you. Mike

Try Techweenie. He may even have a line on something similar in the area that’s better. He’s a matchmaker.

It's a bit far, but I like Westlake Rusnak Porsche. You have to make sure to talk to Sam Abergel, who is the service manager and very knowledgeable about air-cooled.

Pay up for a full, fine tooth comb PPI; a $400 shop special will not be adequate.

Not saying BBCH tries to scam people with bad cars (I am not), but brokers camp out there. If a car makes it online and sits for awhile, there’s probably a very good reason. The vultures don’t leave good cars behind.

Do yourself and DONT buy from them. I strongly recommend Marc @ Redline Service in West LA.

BHCC doesn't let you take the car to a shop. You have to go on what you can see, hear and feel.

Even when I go to check cars out for people, I have to tell them that, for instance, an SC might have one or more broken head studs, and if there's no audible combustion leak, it can't be ruled out.

But most of their Porsches have really obvious (in person, not in photos) deficits because as Mehoff accurately says, the brokers have swept up the good ones.

BHCC buys everything from a few photos. They assess what they bought when it arrives. They don't do any serious reconditioning on 90% of their Porsches. They just wash, photograph and catalog them.

Prospective buyers may think of them as a typical Porsche dealer. They may read the vague desciption and fill in the blanks with their hopes. Both of these beliefs can be costly.
