Price check 1969 912

This is a 1969 rust free 912 with a Type IV engine swap so it's a bit unusual. The mods are completely reversible. I just made an engine mount from a VW bus that uses the stock brackets and mounting location of the 912. You can swap back to the stock engine (included) in no time. I've had this car for about 10 years. Just about everything you would want to do to have a solid driver has been done. I'll post a ton of pics.
The bad, the engine just lost a valve seat, I started a thread on 914World.com about it.

Tru6 plated all these parts.

I used 1976 912 engine tin and it mates up perfectly, no home made tin.

So I have been building this car for a while and collecting parts. Just when I finally get it on the road it throws a valve seat. I bought the Type IV 2056 engine from a member who is very popular on this site but will remain nameless, except maybe for potential buyer.
BTW stock engine included with everything that it had from 1969, it ran great but leaked from main seals and pushrod tubes.

Sorry for the drawn out pics but wanted to be as transparent as possible.

Just looking for a value because it's time to move on after ten years of ownership. I know the smart thing to do would be to reseal/rebuild the stock engine and sell it as a stock 912, but?

Sell Type IV and put back in original swap out seats for either stock or period seats.

Sell for $ $45,000 to $55,000 as hot-rodded 912.... sell IV motor for $25,000.

I agree with Noodle-man's price assessment on the car with orig motor... although I have no idea of standalone Type IV values....

This is one sweet ride!

I agree the smart move is to put the stock motor back in. Then it would just be a nice 20 footer (the paint is not perfect) stock driver with everything you would want done.

JMT-

You have a cool and interesting car; I suggest you get with Techweenie here on PP because he can give you great insight and maximize what you could receive with probably a few tweaks. He is also in Cali . Take a look at “the affordable longhood thread” and shoot him a note. He posted on the last page.
