Over-moderation of For Sale Ad

Comments about the seats that could prove helpful to buyers being deleted by a mod. When did that become the rule? Seems odd they wouldn't allow comments about the seats especially as this seller has a less-than-stellar reputation. If that's the rule now, why allow comments at all? Why not make it like cars for sale with no comments allowed?

What did the comments refer to that were 'filtered" out.

Never saw the comments, but I am guessing some non buyers commenting on the parts for sale. The same reason commenting got removed from the Cars for sale section.

The same reason people on BAT should have 50% of a vehicle price in Escrow before being allowed to comment. Too many classifieds become a social media podium for people who are not going to buy the product offered for sale.....

That makes zero sense. BaT consistently realizes the absolute highest prices of any platform anywhere. It would be foolish to argue that their format, including the comments from non-buyer enthusiasts, is anything but wildly beneficial to the sellers.

If you don't like it buy a hemmings add. List on fleabay or take your stuff to the local swap meet.

I do think it was overly patrolled. Probably friendly moderator and poster

I wouldn’t buy anything from that seller without in person inspection. I didn’t think most of the comments were out of line, though there was some needless chatter.

Dude brought in on himself--took a very adversarial (if not outright contemptuous) attitude from the jump.

Who wants to buy something from a guy who shouts down at the very people he's hoping to sell to? Unique sales technique, to say the least.

Have you guys seen the Minilite wheels in the for 911 for sale forum?
The new member flat out refuses to put a price, others have asked for for pictures and a price, he just talks down to everyone. Seems strange that the mod hasn't piped in, generally they are quick to tell people to post a price,but not this time.. Over mod on one thread, under on another.

They only get involved when a thread is reported, otherwise they don’t notice any of it.

The seller in the original linked post has been know to ummmmm well not be umm how do I say, not representing the vehicle correctly??? Obviously has a friend/connection with the forum/moderators. Quite frankly surprised he is still around. Nothing I have ever seen posted from him looks "as advertised' lol
