Just curious what the market value might be right now on the car my father and I co-own.
It's an '84 Targa 3.2. We've owned it for 7+ years. Indischrot Red (almost like Guard's but a tiny bit more orange), about 125,000 overall miles but only 2,000 miles into a complete engine rebuild by a well-known shop in our region, including a bunch of upgrades like SuperTec head studs, etc. Cleaned out the engine compartment, powercoated the fan, etc. All matching numbers. Runs fantastic. No rust anywhere. Nice interior, original floor mats, no dash cracks or fading, good seats. Nice paint & body, just underwent restoration to remove a few small dings over the years from the PO dropping the Targa top on the cowl area. Brand new windshield glass. Nice wheels, Fuchs style but I don't think they're actually real Fuchs - (not really sure how to tell...if anyone knows please educate me!). Not planning on selling it - but just wondering what it might be worth right now. Thanks all. |

There’s one with 55k mi asking $43,500 right now. I think you can get close to $40, $38k or so. Ask $40k and be open.

That car that is going for $43.5K is a great car. That car is a bargain at that price - it looks new. I believe his $43.5K asking is less than it should be going for - so Matt is probably right on with yours.

Thanks everyone. We plan on hanging onto our car for a long time, but it's cool to have an idea of what it's worth from actual people. Hagerty has it around $40K as well.

To determine if you have authentic fuchs - you'll likely have to take them off the car and look at the backside. The part number and the fuchs logo (looks like a fox head) will be visible, as well as the mfr code date. Take a look at the pics on these two fuchs ads in the classified forum right now as an example for comparison:

The wheels on the car pictured in by the OP are 15 inch so those links are not going to be much help for a comparison.
