Why are so many opposed to a trade?
I ran my 1973.5T for sale awhile ago with an option to trade for an excellent SC or Carrera. I was surprised that no one was interested as I thought a real Porsche enthusiast would opt for an older restored model. I only want to upgrade because I want a more modern car, nothing less. I guess no one cared to go into the opposite direction. Then I thought of the owner who might say, that the older Porsches might be a better overall investment while still providing the pleasure of driving. But, apparently no one is thinking that way. I find that unusual with so many owners who frequent this board.
Any opinions on the subject? Bob |

Well in pure economic terms, you need to have what I want and I need to have what you want, but we both can use money as a universal medium.
So, I need to have an SC or Carrera you want, you need to have an early I want. I was considering a trade for an early a while back, but that would require me giving up my Carrera, which I wasn't ready to do. But cash comes and goes......

I am not one to let go of my Carrera and I would have to be willing to sell first in order to consider a trade. Their might be a certain buyer out there but cash always speaks louder. Those that are selling their P-car IMO are selling because they already have another one or have another one coming or because they are strapped for cash.

The responses are in line with the reality of the logistical issues and bantering back and forth on value. But, every once and awhile, things do fall in line and both parties achieve the degree of satisfaction that works well for both.
Cash does talk and thats going to be my goal which in the end might provide greater buying power. Bob |

Hi Sunroof
I just looked at the ad, you said "Responses and e-mails too overwhelming!!!! Its going off the market for now to thoroughly enjoy for the spring." Why didn't you just sell it instead of worrying about trading. And where are the pictures? Rich

The car is for sale; however, I have been slow on getting pictures on the site and your right, its easier to sell, take the cash and shop from there.

I agree with Sunroof. Very well said Bob. Why not sell and move on?
