'82 SC Coupe Value
I'm thinking of moving my '82 SC coupe.
It's updated with all the usual stuff (carrera chain tensioners, pop off valve) suspension restored (everything plated or painted) with Elephant polybornze, turbo wheels, ect. Paint is 6 of 10, interior 7 0f 10. Milege is 60,xxx. Market value, please?

If your paint and interior numbers are spot-on, I'd say around $12,000 or so. Those numbers are very subjective though - one person's 5 is another person's 9 on their own scale. With these cars, the condition of paint and interior are huge in the value...
6 on the paint scale would be a 10-ft looker. 7 on the interior would mean seats need recovering, and new carpet kit, with some small scuffs on the dash / knee pads. Maybe a steering wheel recover too. -Wayne

OK, make the interior 9 of 10. It's nearly perfect.
Low milage count for anything?

I would say anywhere from 12-15k (East Coast) depending on how the PPI went and there are no issues with the head studs.
An SC with the head studs replaced and a recent clutch, brakes, suspension replacement etc will probably go for close to 15k or more. Your mileage is below 100k which helps. I've noticed that there are a lot of SC's being listed recently for 12k or less but most of them will need some work to fix any wear & tear issues. Also, the market is all over the place right now with high gas prices, rising interest rates, job lay off's from major companies etc If you are going to sell it, just list it for a price that you think is fair and adjust it if it doesn't sell in a few months. Good luck

Now in 993 land ...

12-15 in your area. The color is decent and it is a coupe. The low mileage (if documented via records and / or carfax) also is a plus.
The problem with fetching higher dollar is that the 915 equipped Carreras are coming down into the 15s in decent shape. That said, I have seen real nice SCs sell for 16, even in the lower priced Bay Area. George |
