911 purchase - What should i be looking for?
After about two months of pounding the streets looking for an open-aired 911, I am in need of some expert re-evaluation of my expections.
I had a budget of $13k to find either a late 60s-early 70s 911, or early to mid 80's sc...just a decent looking driver. I had a opportunity to purchase a 81sc in almost perfect condition with tons of receipts for $12k, and I lost the car to the sellers friend WHILE i was working out the price with him. brady bunch flashback where the seller has a friend call while i am there to force my hand, that ended up being true. Since then, every other car i have looked at or driven has had some issue or another with it and nothing is coming close to the first one i saw. The actual seller "values" of their cars are ALL over the place and its driving me crazy. I guess I already know the real answer to my problem, keep looking until I find something that matches the first car I saw. |
