'99 911 worth?

What is a 99 911 worth with 9800 miles on it? it has a gutted interior unhooked all of the corresponding electrical because the owner was going to change the interior color, decided not to, and does not want to put the old back in. Asking $25k.....sound fishy?

I'd pull a carfax on that just to make sure the title is clear and that there wasn't any flood damage in the car's history. Also, check with the local authorities to make sure the car's not been reported stolen. If that all checks out and there's nothing wrong with the car it's a good deal. I would be a little bit sceptical about the mileage without an interior in it, but carfax should indicate if the odometer's been tampered with as well.

I agree sounds like a good deal, can you see it in person? Also, it would be nice to make sure there is not an RMS issue since it is a 99.

That guy has been tring to sell that car for weeks for that price. If it checks out, I bet he's willing to deal a bunch. Early on, I believe he posted some pics and it didn't look too bad.

the 996 3.4 has some mechnical issues. Are the 9800 original miles or on a new motor? I don't think its the greatestdeal. I see them between 25-30k with as low as 40K...

im asking for a friend, i do not know anything about it. he is supposed to pull a carfax report on it. I think it sounds pretty screwy to me being such a low milage car for so little and the guy is not willing to put it back together to sell it for another $10k.

If it's the one I'm thinking of, it's a silver coupe? If so, there was a posting in the SF craigslist about how it is a salvage.

Don't cheap out on these.

This looks like the rig your talking about. Does sound a bit kinky but then most great deals do on the surface.

There was a '99 911 that just sold here in Raleigh for $29,000.

I don't remeber the mileage but it was in very good condition but had a Tiptronic Tranny.

I went and look at this car for a guy that asked me a couple of weeks ago, it has had damage on the driver's side from front to back. It has been fixed, but it is a poor job. the interior is completly appart and might be missing several trim pieces. I would buy for 15K to turn into a track car but not for 25K when you can get a nice one for arround 30K

I paid $26,500 for my 99, although it had higher miles than that
& typically these cars do not like to just "sit up" & not be run, as it
states that it has been in storage for 4 yrs.
Seems like it should be cheaper in that condition.

just my .02

Cam I think I remember when you bought your 99. Have you had any issues with it?

I heard an interesting thing the other day, the 99s are several hundred pounds lighter than the later cars. Makes them very attractive to me.

No issues other than the coolant tank needs to be replaced (typical), other than that its been great!!

I even picked up a 6 speed tranny for $1000.00 about a month ago.

Life is great!
