I know this post will create a lot of discussion, but I want to get the pros and cons of 996's.
I am looking for a low mileage 911 - and am considering buying either a 1999-2001 model, or a 2002-2003 model. Other than the obvious difference in price, are there any reasons to favor one version or the other? I will drive this car less than 5,000 miles per year and want to get a Cabriolet. My last 911 was a 1990 C-4 Cabriolet. Any thoughts will be appreciated! Barry ![]()

Barry,
Whatever you get, just get a PPI before and read all you can for common problems. On newer cars, check your popular sites such edmunds.com, cars.com for recent reviews. Also, spend time at Rennlist and 6speedonline forums, the 996 guys tend to flock together over there but if you don't get an answer there, someone here I'm sure will be glad to help. Best of luck.
