Red Interior. Bad for resale?
I posted this in the tech section but I suppose it belongs on this new forum.
I'm interested in a car that has a can-can red interior. Will this be an issue at resale time? Car is silver.

Can-can
I think it`s a positive. I don`t think it will hurt you.

Depends on the interior I guess...and the taste of the prospective buyer. Here's a shot of Jeff Smith's 1972 911T
interior. To garish for my taste, but others love it... ![]()

There have been a couple of silver/can can early 911's over the past couple of months. Simply stunning.
Personally, a Black/Can Can 944Turbo almost caused a divorce in 1986. I really like it as it was extra cost and thus very rare. I add my vote for Can Can! |

One man's hamburger, another man's steak. I walked away from several can can interiors when I was looking. Buy what you want, not what you want to resell.

It will be an issue to everyone but the person who WANTS a red interior. Its a Porsche. Are you buying it to Drive it or sell it later?

Black or Silver 911's and 930's look awesome with a can-can red interior. I want a can-can red interior someday.

I'll raise my hand on this one. Silver/red is a nice combo. Not very common. This is lobster red.

I agree with a lot of folks on here. The condition of the car is most important and then what you like. I would prefer to find a 911 (or any Porsche) with a red interior. I think it's awesome. And they seem to be quite rare. I wouldn't choose based on resale as long as it is a factory interior. Now if it is some aftermarket zebra-skin type thing, that's another story.

OMG! Polar Silver/CanCan Red? You hit the color combo jackpot! In all the years I have been looking, and all the 911 cars I have owned, I still have never even seen one up close.
Please email me the info if you pass....thx. |

Well, I'll add one vote out of step with everyone else - it *is* indeed a taste issue, but I hate it. No offence to those with the red interiors, but I really dislike it. For me it would be a deal-breaker, unless the rest of the car was spectacular, or a phenomenal value. Looks like I'm in the vast minority though, so it would seem it wouldn't hurt resale value.
