Okay,
First of all I apologize ahead for this post but I need to let off some steam! I have been utilizing Ebay like the rest of you for some time and learned very quickly that you need to be careful with your purchases on both small and big items. Because of lack of honesty of sellers and other BS I have really not utilized Ebay anymore. Now that I have bought my first early porsche I have become well acquanted with the Pelican Boards and have absolutely loved it, at least until now. I elected to make my first purchase off of the board from a fellow pelicanite a couple weeks ago. It seemed like a nice purchase for a supposedly nice driver condition engine grille. To make a long story short the seller described the anticipated scratches on top (which I was completely fine with) BUT elected not to tell the whole story on the condition of the grille. Every tab was either broken or had been very badly welded and some of the grille's were actually bent slightly. After letting him know of my dissatisfaction, there has still been no resolution. I want to return it (and by the way I offered to pay the shipping on my own dime to across the pond) but he is refusing. WHAT HAPPENED TO GOOD OLE HONESTY! I thought that this supposedly close knit group of Porsche owners would be different, but I guess not. Thank goodness I have a quality store nearby named Carquip! Thanks everyone for listening and I hope your experiences go better than mine! Sam

Sorry to hear of your frustration... After lurking here for a loong time I am also now a Porsche owner and recently made my first purchase as well. I bought some items from member T-Work and they were better than described, packaged nicely, great price, and arrived at my door before he recieved the check. I relate this to you to illustrate that there are indeed some great people here... But, like in any group of people, there are those that take advantage and it sucks.
A few tips: Insist on high-quality pictures of the item from multiple angles... Use Pay-Pal, bank check, money-order, etc.... Do not use personal checks (prevent identity or account theft)... If in doubt, don't buy. Hope this helps. Eric

Sorry that your first experience wasn't a posotive one. The hard thing about pelican is that you want to think that it is a group of enthusiasts who are trying to help one another out. I would say 80% of the people here fall into that category. But as in any communinity there are bad apples. I got burned by a pelican on car so I feel your pain. You'll find out who are good guys and who are not. Where are you located in Colorado? I just moved from CO to Philly, not quite Colorado.
Cheers Rich
