value of 912 converted to 911
Thinking of installing 911 engine into a non running a '67 912 chassis along with guages, brakes etc., is this a worthwhile conversion? Any imput?
Thanks Michael |
Micheal,
The hot rodders do it all the time. I don't the value when done would be any different than a hot roded 911. Phil |
The value will be less than a hot rodded 911. But at the least it will be worth a 912 roller plus the parts price of the drive train!

Once a car is modified from stock whats the difference what the vin designates it once was. I value a non stock car at the parts value that its made of.
In other words 67` 912 roller chassis $2-$5k 3.0 engine $3-$5k 915 gearbox $700-$1200 Sususpension , seats, or any other particularly nice parts could ad another $ or so. So if you had a nice 67 912 car with a solid running SC drivetrain it would be worth about $10k - 12k in my opinion. Of course any engine can be figured to this equation. Kurt Williams |
Kurt I agree with you. And I expect that we are going to see more of this in the next few years as early 911's get too expensive to purchase for street rodding.

Why not restore this to original 912 specs? There is a 912-following out there that would buy something like that. :)
