are higher mileage cars all that bad

I am looking at several 3.2s to purchase, one being around 150,000 miles, but single owner and every bit of work documented. It has had all the necessary work done( top end etc.) and was repsrayed. I am also looking at a couple of car 911 3.2s that are in the 70,000 miles range but do not have documentation etc. If the price is adjusted is it really a bad thing to buy a car with higher mileage?

High miles are fine, if it is reflected in the price. Especially in the example of the 150k car with the top end. I'd be a little scared of resprays, unless they are real quality jobs. I'd take a lightly worn factory job over an average respray, if I had the choice. A quality repaint should cost on the order of 5k or more, depending on your location.

Be careful with cars that have no records. The mileage may not be correct. Unless you have a seamless carfax history to support mileage, stay away from paying a premium for low miles.

I bought my 1976 last year with 222,000 on Body, but there were extensive records. The engine is a 3.0 from an 83, has 100k, but well maintained. Paint is flawless! Everything works. A/C was removed. Runs great.

I have since added the tail & rims.
I wasn't afraid of high miles!

It's al relative on the condition and upkeep of the car.

I've seen very low mileage cars on their last legs and high mileage cars with over 200,000 miles that keep on ticking.
