No way a Vintage in that config should sell for that much, also the buyer is a 0 feedback, doubt he will get his money.

Check out the Spyder club website if you want one of these, people often selling off unfinished projects or complete cars in a hurry for a fraction of what they cost to build.
Wait, that sounds kind of familiar... http://www.spyderclub.com Jake Raby (of RAT) hangs out there, he just sold his own personal 550 on Ebay (it was in the classified on Spyderclub): It closed at $27,500. I think new turnkey 550's from Beck, Vintage or Thunder Ranch were pushing $30,000 a couple of years ago - and you could easily get way over that with a non-basic motor or all the spendy authentic retro details. Power-to-weight in one of those things is a real attention-getter with a tweaked 4-banger - and some people are building them with Subaru motors and modern brakes and suspension geometry too. Still got absolutely no crash protection and a body shape that tends to fly over 125 MPH though... Sure would be a fun toy. I love the quote from one of the original Beck road tests, which I think went something like "it's so tail-happy you'll get it wagging in the parking lot, but it always goes where the heavy wheel is pointing".. ![]()
