price check 75 carrera-selling

I'm thinking of selling my 75 carrera coupe, but don't really know what is going on with pricing for these. It is a gorgeous car , no sunroof, 3.0 SC engine. Trans has weak syncros, engine is nothing special, just did new lower studs. AC deleted, manual window conversion, original fuchs with a dull finish. Car has been repainted very well, with lots of new rubber, light housings, etc but hood paint is a bit wierd. Never rusty except under battery, has been hit in front at some point. I think when it was repaired they used a standard bumper, so no fogs or headlight washers.

My opinion is that these are getting ready to climb, so maybe better to hang on to it for a while? Mostly selling due to new project and I don't really like it as much as I hoped.

Thanks

Art. Are you sure it's a 75? The Carrera 3.0 was only made in MY 76 and 77 as far as I can tell. A VIN and an engine # would reveal a lot about whether your car is a true C3.

That light yellow is one of my all-time favorite 911 colors.

It's a US Carrera (not Carerra 3.0) that came with a basic US spec 2.7S engine. This one has a later '79 3.0 SC engine. The light yellow is quite the color! This one is #390 out of 395 coupes in '75. My understanding is that the flares are similar to an SC, but not the same, maybe more like the Carerra 3.0 that you mention, or the RS Carerra.

The flares are slightly different than a SC I think but someone will probably have the definitive answer on that. The market for the Euro Carreras (74/75) is taking-off as I see it. They are already out of my price-range. The Carrera 3.0 market is starting to inch up. The US Carreras? That is a tougher call. They have been somewhat maligned but I've seen some really nice examples for sale (not sure if they are selling) for more than I expected...north of 35K.

Your car with the SC engine and the other changes is tough to gauge. I have a feeling it's not going to be worth anymore than a 79SC and maybe even less seeing as it's been hit. As you know the mid-years can be a tough sell even though they are lighter with fewer bells and whistles that the later cars which I see as a big plus.

There is someone out there for your car though...especially with the sunroof delete. I was that person last month!!
