They're dreaming not because it's a T but because the car is way too un-original. Things like a yellow dashoard, RS door panels, blacked out britework and Corbeau seats kill the resale value of the car. Spend a few grand undoing these mods and the car will do a lot better.

At any rate, if their investment costs are real, which I seriously doubt, they'll have to take a $50k loss to move this car.

The most anyone will pay for this car is ~$18k.

Hummmm ...19K spent to rebuild the engine and didn't even upgrade to pressurized tensioners?

Frankly, I hope he gets what he wants for it. I would not have made the same choices with the car. I wonder what it looked like when he started out on his project? The car we see could be an amazing improvement/transformation. This might be one more Porsche that was saved from the scrap heap.

Also, and this is REALLY selfish, I need to see guys like him burn cash on a project and see some kind of return, to justify what I have spent this year just to maintain my car.

According to his figures, he has spent $67k, not including the original price of the car. Why would he sell it now and take a $20-30k hit? I have a total "investment" of $22k in my 1985, and I am going to be buried in it. They will have to pry it from my cold dead hands.

Some food for thought: Free advice, probably worth what you paid for it.

IF you want to mod an early 911? Be one of those "R Gruppe type" cars? You'd better choose your mods carefully. Even then, you will limited your customer base if you decide to sell the car.

As illustrated here...some may not like your ideas on mods, they may even find your lovingly done modifications to be distasteful. No matter how much money was spent.

But hey, we're not into playing with these cars for the money, right?
