72T 2.4MFI engine pricing?

What do you think a really nice 73T 2.4 MFI engine is worth? It has been sitting in a warehouse for a couple of years It appears to be completely original and unmolested. Very, very nice shape. I have an engine test stand, so i will do an inspection, compression test, leakdown and fire it up, etc. Assuming this engine is in as good of shape as it appears, what is a fair price?

Prices are all over the map, but the general trend is upward based on rarity. Miles do not matter on these cars as much as condition. Rate it yourself (Fair, Good Excellent) and follow what Bruce Anderson has come up with in Excellence magazine ("Updated Market Value of early 911'S). If it is in the excellent range figure 18K to 28K. Many "T" enthusiasts prefer the MFI model over the 1973.5 T with CIS. Either way, the "T" (touring) model was the most produced of the "S" and "E" series that year, therefore, more "T's" are around. It was the slower of the three models, but its still was a great handling and quick car. If it is an unmolested model, with original interior, no rust and good mechanicals, paint and trim, I would be in the 20-23K range.

Tough to say. $2,000 to $2,700, depending on the test results.

The market is not well-established but there's one person in 10,000 who will gladly pay at the top of the range.

for a 2.4 engine in good running condition i would estimat $3,500 to$ 4,800 depending on if the fuel injection is with it or not,would bring more with a complete system, frank

I have a '73 and i think if you got it for $2,500 you would be stealing it. First of all they dont make that engine anymore and there are tons of people trying to restore cars. The parts are worth more than that. I would think Frank is closer to a real worth if not a lot more..

In 2005 I paid $2k for a good running complete '72 motor, I'd think the market for these have gone up to about 4k.
