The buyer of that 87 Targa sure got a super deal and I hope the person enjoys it instead of posting it on Ebay a few days later.

Coupe *** Stunning 89 Porsche Carrera 4 *** - $13900
http://saltlakecity.craigslist.org/car/385329809.html
No affiliation but if I was in the market I would be all over this. (PPI). White Coupe with cracked windscreen, no ac and a couple of leaks. |
I dont know the specifics on the engineering of the ABS and 4wd system I do know they're tied together and its a VERY expensive fix.

No affiliation, but here's another '87 Targa for sale. Check it out:
link and pics at: http://sfbay.craigslist.org/nby/car/399248488.html ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 87' Porsche 911 Carrara 3k under Low Blue Book - $9000 (napa county) -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Reply to: sale-399248488@craigslist.org Date: 2007-08-17, 9:19AM PDT The car has a strong running enjine. Nice clean interior but at this time has a crack in the dash and I'm going to try to repair it. It was painted sometime back by the previous owner and not origianal color. It used to be red. Tires have good tread. I put new front rotors, brake bads, inner and outer bearings. They were not worn badly but were due for replacement. Also the rear emergency brake pads were replaced in June. The car has the typical porsche oil leak and I'm not sure if it's just a matter of tightening a bolt here and there or not. If your're familiar with these kind of cars then you probably know. It has a kenwood stereo system with CD player and flips around to hide into the dash when the key is off. Has power door locks and power windows, power bucket seats which are very comfortable. A few little things need to be fixed like the high beams don't work and I'm not sure if it's just the light bulbs or what. power rear view mirrors don't work. That's why I'm asking three thousand below low blue book. It's got a 3.2 litre and the more desirable tranny (I think it's called G50) It has 198k on the speedometer and these cars have been known to run strong and still be in great shape for well over 200k miles. If you're not familiar with this type of car, these were made very well, high performance and it's hard to improve upon the design and parts etc. I have it financed through Capitol one and the tittle will be mailed to you in three or four days. They are easy to deal with. Your chance to own a classic for way less than they are going for. Check around and compare for 87's with the more desirable 3.2 litre engine and this type of tranny. The car is at 1540 Ink Grade Road, Pope Valley 94567. I can be reached on my cell phone 7am to 12midnight -Steve 707-217-5112 |
I have not inquired or gone to see that car for these reasons:
1. its a targa. 2. it has basically 200k miles on the odomoter and no mention of a rebuild. 3. it is leaking oil 4. repaint in non-original color I don't know do you guys think its still worth going to see at 9k? I guess that is pretty cheap but how about the old adage that these are all 20k cars... I think I'd rather spend 15k on a decent car with good maintenance. |
There's an 86 (I know, I know, this thread is for G50 3.2s but whatever) coupe in RI for $11k...car has 149k on it...anyone curious about it? I'll go check it out if you want. Were I not balls deep into fixing up a 71, I'd be all over it.
Pending PPI, of course. |

Guys,
Yep the add for that "87" doesn't quite compute - the picture is of a 964. I forwarded the link on to someone who is looking for a cab - I'm not. I have a PPI tommorow on a nice red/black 87 that I found, of all places, on the Pelican Parts for Sale board... I'll keep you posted. In the meantime there do seem to be some "deals" out there. |
This was just posted. Not a screaming deal but in my opinion the best 87-89 911 produced.

The PPI I did didn't work out so we (buyer/seller) agreed to go our separate ways. So.... please do send me your leads on 87-89 G50 cars, preferably red, white or black with a recent top-end!

Did you guys see that 89 coupe listed recently for top dollar?
|
Do you mean the link above? Its in Texas, and I'm in California, so no I haven't seen it or inquired. It does look nice, but for that kind of money I can get an 86 Turbo.
I personally am looking for a driver, not a museum piece or garage queen. Something in the 80,000 -150,000 miles range. |
You missed a white 89 Coupe that just sold in Maryland with 115,000 miles that was listed for $14,900
