Found a 911S 1967.. value. ??

I have found a nice 911S 67 mode, it has been made to look like a post 73 car.

Anyone have an estimate on value + price to make it correct ( I am DIY kind of owner.. )

911S Value

A friend of mine bought a '70S last year that had been forward dated to a '75 look and fitted with a T motor. The vehicle was tatty but not rusty and drove OK. He paid $5K here in California.
It has been a lot of work taking it back to the 1970 long nose look and we have had no luck sourcing an S motor.
Regards,
Kevin

Does it have the original S engine?

If you are even thinking of "price and value" Sandy's response is the main thing to consider at this point. Yes, if it still has all the S options (gauges, suspension, brakes) it will bring more than a "normal" but I don't think it would offset the cost of the cosmetic reversal. On the other hand, a matching # engine puts the car into a different league.
BTW, please let us know if the engine matches!

The cost to bring back to stock was not cheap for my friend's '70S. Fenders, hood, bumpers, trim strips, rockers, interior, paint and wheels came to about $10K. We have yet to find a motor even offered for sale so my friend is happy with his T motor for the time being.

One recent benchmark was a '73S offered on this site with a T motor and rusty pans that sold for $25K......

The 67S has a lot of one year only items:

Door panels, interior aluminum trim pieces, wheels, below door deco's, brakes (though they were on the 68S and L as well). etc. etc.

Theoretically you could try to find a not too rusty 912 and start transferring parts, but the 912's have been going up in price lately, but I still think that's one way of getting a lot of the body parts.

If the car has only had an exterior update, it would make it a lot easier.... if it has the engine, that's a good start!

The car has a very well done 74-75 look, the engine was idnetified to be early 70s model 2.2, it has mech injection...

The Interior appear to be correct and car is rust free, I am going to check it when I get back home in the end of july, so far I have only seen pix of the car... if it still is available I may buy it, though it aint cheap. ~$15k.

In my opinion it would need exteriror corrected, then later I could source an engine.

Thats a lot of Joe! The cost of sourcing a 67 "s" motor either rebuilt or buying a core an rebuilding it may well cost another $15k. Add the costs of repair and bringing the car back to stock appearance and you now have $50k in non-numbers matching "S". Don't know if that adds IMHO

..it is rustfree, it is not correct but it is said to be rustfree. It is SWB and I have the facilities to make it correct for the cost of the parts.

I have had 65 and 66 911's with no rust, so why not a 67? Any common knowledge on the 67 that I should know?

Thats perhaps the main reason I am interested in this car, the engine could show up sometime in the future, right now a sweet SWB 911 with a hot 2.2T engine would be fine.
