930 Turbo appraisal ?
Hey gang can anyone point me in the right direction to as what my car is worth? Let me first say that I have owned this car for the last 15 years and want to sell her but I can wait for the right offer. The car is Grix Prix White with Cashmere interior two owner car with 19,800 miles. Purchased in late 1992 with 6000 miles and have nursed this baby from the beginning. The car has no stories and drives and looks like new. Being a Realtor with Caldwell Banker I find that she just sits in the gargage. Is the best option to take her to Arizona in the fall for Auction . Any help is appreciated, please give me a call at 618-530-0523 or e-mail me at [email]wdwfla2000@yahoo.com

An auction is one option, but sometimes there are some shady dealings going on at those things.
With the right marketing/advertising & if you aren't in a big hurry, you should be able to sell it on your own for a decent price. I'm not an expert, & I still haven't sold my car yet, but I do have some experience. Good luck, just remember that you may end up regretting selling such a nice car, if you do sell it.

I think the question is, do you want to maximize your value or get a sale done quick?
Not sure where you've put your car up for sale, but realize at $50-60K, you can get a much better performing "newer" car.. Cayman S, Used 993TT/996TT. Albeit, the G50 930 with low miles is SUCH a different car, but when people shop with their wallets vs their dreams, sometimes logic takes over. I am not sure dropping the price by $4k is enough to suddenly motivate a quick sale.. Now, dropping it to the $40s I would think would speed up a sale. Car looks great. Be sure to explain the maintenance that has been performed. Sometimes a low mileage Turbo is not the best because seals/rubber dries out and can be both annoying and expensive to replace. Just my 2 cents...

I love the car -- perfect colors; exactly what I'm wanting to be in the market for eventually. Though the super-low mileage would actually worry me some for the above mentioned reasons. Additionally, for the $$$s you're asking, my "logical" brain would be looking at the (equally loved) 993. One thing I'll add, you might want to consider removing the reference about using "the money for the stock market." Someone might interpret that as an indication of a potentially "motivated seller" -- are there margin calls just around the corner? -- and start contacting you with crazy-low offers. |
