What would you pay - 90 964 Coupe 264,000 miles
1990 C4
Car runs well but: 1- Has 264,000 miles ![]() 2- leaks oil from valve covers, few drips from oil tank area 3- Could use a repaint (Grand Prix White) 4- there was some rust around front windscreen which was repaired 4- Located in Canada Good: - the interior is excellent - everything works including air conditioning - new condensor fan, new blower motors, new wind screen - new abs pump, steering rack in the last 2000 miles - car still pulls strong I am the second owner and was told that the motor was rebuilt by the previous owner. I did talk to the Porsche dealership that serviced the 964 but their maintenance history was so long they wouldn't send it to me. IS there a market for this 964 ???? If so what would you pay. (I'll tell you what I paid a little later... ) What's it worth??? I got about ($20,000 Canadian into it) ![]() |

That's a tough call.
A friend of mine just sold his 1990 C4 for around $18,000 last year. 118,000 miles, excellent condition inside & out and passed both PPI's for two prospective buyers with no problems noted. Someone else I know sold his white 245,000 mile 87 Carrera coupe with a recent motor overhaul (topenmd and bottom) and transmission rebuild similar condition as your car and after a year on the market for $10k he finally sold it for $8,500 US. I would Just drive it and enjoy ![]()

Maybe ten to low teens? Some more info on the motor would be helpful in selling it... leakdown, etc. There's a racecar in the making, there, I think

In the US, you would not be able to get 5 figures for that car.

I bought it at a time when the Canadian dollar was not as strong as it is today. After exchange, duty and shipping it almost doubled the cost. I drove a friends low mileage 964 and I couldn't tel the difference between the two. When I bought it I knew the mileage would be a real turn off for resale. I am now looking to upgrade to a 993 ..... nothing wrong with two Porsche's in the garage..... three if I count my 944 which sucks for resale as well.

Derk,
Time goes quick. It seems like I just read your post on Rennlist about buying this car...but it's 3 years already... I wouldn't sell it for a nickle less than you paid for it...! Jay 90 964, 84 3.2 |
