![]() I've missed PLENTY of cars in my time! And I've snapped up a few no-brainers too. The hunt is half the fun, at least for me. I had two 914's back in the early '80's--my first Porsches after about 25 VW's. I'm a sucker for really nicely preserved and/or restored cars and I fell for this one. Added bonus is I've learned a lot about the LE's too. Enough to be able to identify one if I ever run across it and snap it up! Onward and upward.... ![]()

The market is a little unbalanced I think. If you look at Bruce Anderson's columns in Excellence, you would think your "so-so" car is worth a ton. I just want an accurate definition of so-so, good, and excellent.
California might pay a premium, but they have better choice. I might pay a premium in the other states, but is for lack of selection.

NADA value on a regular 914 2.0 in good condition is $17K. A nice one up to $23K.
An LE is a different story. It is the rarest 914 production car ever made. There were two: the creamsicle and the bumblebee. Only 500 or each were made in a 7 week period beginning the middle of February of 1974. About 20% of them remain. They were fully optioned and Can Am tribute cars. Their value is much more. Mine was made on 14 February 1974 - Valentine's Day. I believe it is the 11th Creamsicle made. And as far as its value? If you offered me $30K I wouldn't sell it. Maybe $40K... But only if I found another that was impeccable. ![]() By the way, if you are looking for a nice, solid 914 in good condition, I have one I'm selling. Only $10K for this one. Rebuilt engine as well, built up to a 2.2. ![]() ![]()

Wondered why a 6 year old thread was bumped. Now I see why. You are selling something. We do have a forum for that...
