if you paint it and fix the rust, you will be stuck with it, as you won't get what you want (no offense Luke) and then you'll have too much into it to sell at the market price. Worth 12-15k on the highside. IMO

parts pricing
[QUOTE=Luke Marano Jr;3803266]Again, no offense taken this is a marketplace discussion.
This car would easily clear 20k in parts. Bumpers, overrider bars and bumperettes in the pictures I would give $2000 for. I wonder what shape the door panels and dash are in. If the interior is by any chance in nice shape there is another $5000 I would be willing to pay. I wish I could buy it myself. Edited from above: So are you saying that you are a buyer for overriders/bumperettes etc for $2000? And $5000 for a mint interior with door panels, pockets etc etc. If thats the case them I am selling those parts from my car, a 1970 911E. Where do you want me to ship them too? I'm ready and could use the $7000 to put towards building a spare transmission. |

Interior: Complete Early Dash [top w/ speaker, Instrument panel w/ all switches and guages, Glove box door and bottom knee pads] Door Panels complete w/ pockets [ including door tops ] Condition excellent no restoration needed. Bumpers: Front and Rear as pictured in pictured condition. This includes all bumperette and bumper bar assemblies. I am also interested in a 1973 T complete rear deck lid. I am willing to discuss substitutes. |

one for $25,000 http://charlottesville.craigslist.org/car/593197949.html
One for $2,500 http://philadelphia.craigslist.org/car/552193741.html |
I would discount all comments on pricing excepting those cash-in-hand offers. Purchases of these cars are emotionally based, not rationally based (otherwise SCs are better in most measures). Someone, somewhere will love the color and feel it's worth a premium.
Assuming it's an excellent runner, shifts and stops well, and has no hidden crash damage, I would advertise this car at $22.5K and expect to engage in discussions with prospective buyers about various things to make right or compromise over. |
love the plate
dont you just love that plate on the M5:cool:
here's one of mine http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1204894551.jpg |

This car is being offered for $8500. http://www.early911sregistry.org/forum/showthread.php?t=19593 Here is a $1500 tool Kit These cars have become valuable due to the sum of their parts. |
That car will be for sale for some time to come unless the seller gets realistic. Any item or unit is only worth what another will pay for it....not what the asking price is. Thats a $3500.00 car and thats being generous.

This one http://www.early911sregistry.org/forum/showthread.php?t=19593 went for $500 less than asking at $2500. It was IMO worth less than $500! POS does not describe it. There was not a component on the car that wasn't rusted through till daylight. |
I also agree that the europeans have provided us the luxury of a "price floor" on the early 911's but this really only applies to the quality examples. They really don't want our rotten junk (they have plenty of there own). I think that the POS's out there will not have the price immunity that the decent drivers and concours cars enjoy.
