me too. However, I disagree with the belief that the Europeans (at last the Germans where I live) are getting hot on the 914/6. Case in point. I was at my mechanics shop outside Munich a few months ago and there was a way over-restored 914/6 there which is owned by a local dealer. I asked my mechanic (one of the most seasoned in southern Germany and most respected) what he thought of the car and 914/6's in general, and he didn't have anything nice to say. Most f the other local early 911 guys I talk with also have no interest in them. I like them not necessarily because of the look, but because of the mid engine layout and that they are kind of the ugly duckling (or red headed orphan if you like) of the early Porsche lineage. And most importantly because they are cheap (or at least were cheap). I can't see spending $40k on a car with a 2.0 911T 110hp motor in it. I can see spending $15k on a conversion with a nice early 2.4 or 2.7S motor in it though. If you gave me the choice between a nice clean original 1974-77 911 for $10-15k versus a mediocre 914/6 for the same amount, I would lean toward the mid-year 911. :). 110hp doesn't get my blood to my temples unless it's in a TR3, a bugeye sprite, a lightweight 356, or a pre 78 VW Beetle

Fuel to the fire...

This 6 (#1810) sold within the last 3 or 4 months for $45K to a buyer in the Motherland. A numbers matching, complete ground up restoration...every thing new...it looked like a brand new car...very quick too. If I can find pics of the chassis on a lift I will post those as well. The project was not cheap...plus or minus $100K which proves the craziness of such an endeavor...it would take decades to see any kind of return on investment...centuries?

Yes, thats a 76 930 outside...
