price check on 67 912?
I am considering buying this car... It is a three owner car that has 53,000 miles. It is rust free with the paint being a strong 8. Do you think $8,000 is a fair price? All mechanicals are fine. Is the deck lid rare? Thanks

Price seems reasonable to me assuming all is good with the car, deck lid is not original.

Price is ok as long as you really like the car. It needs to be truly rust free though. The decklid isn't rare (well, unless it's genuine Porsche and has an aluminum frame inside). The wheels are wrong for the car, the rears are so wide I bet they will rub if you drive it hard. You should expect to spend something to get some correct wheels on there, but you can sell the Fuchs for enough cash to do that, assuming they are real Fuchs. I've seen a lot of 912s with 914 engines lately, so be sure it has a 912 engine (they look totally different so it's not hard to tell).

It will cost "X"? to bring it into or back to a correct look. Tires and wheels are way to big and the car looks as though it is a 4 wheel drive as it sits high........to fit over the way to big wheels and tires. 8K is not bad but consider what needs to be done. I seriously doubt the suger scoop is necessary so IMO its gotta go.
