Selling My '80 SC - What Price?
I'm close to putting my SC on the market, so I can focus on restoring my '67. What price should I list?
Some details: 110k miles All paperwork since new. 15k on new headstuds and top end (new rings, valve grind, etc.) 4 years on bare metal paint. I changed the color to Irish Green (213). I spent hours perfecting the primer, but the painter left a few imperfections. It's not perfect paint, but very nice looking. Runs and looks excellent, great interior with excellent original seats and headliner. The dash was recovered in leather, but the leather is shrinking around vents and edges. It still look fine, but not perfect. Newer parts: Bilstein sport shocks in rear, HD in front Ball joints, turbo tie rods, front bearings H4 headlamps Airbox Dansk sport muffler and Dansk euro premuffler All new weather seals Older Improvements: Updated oil fed chain tensioners Turbo Valve Covers Improved oil temp gauge (with numbers) The car is ready to be driven. The only future issue could be a tranny refresh. You have to stop to put the car in first and it's a bit stiff to shift sometimes. However, it hasn't gotten worse in the 8 years I've owned the car.

12-13K is what I think. Many positives, with several negatives
1, tranny waiting to go 2. respray of non original colors Good low miles (for an 80SC). The market is slow....

Can I just say that I really, really like that color on an SC? Wow, what a palette Porsche used.

Thanks, Brian. I love the color, too, and will be sorry to see the car go. There are a bunch more pics at http://picasaweb.google.com/DavidandKimPryor/1980911SC

+1. It sures presents well. And he's identified the problem issues. I am really beginning to dig the odder/rarer SC colors.

Thanks for the comments. I'll be handing it over to a great new owner this afternoon. I love the car and it will be hard to see it go. When you compare the prices of modern cars, SC's certainly give you a lot of fun per dollar.

Will be selling my SC when I get back in town in 2 weeks to help fund my race car. Thanks for starting the thread so I can get an idea of the market. I have not paid much attention since I have been knee deep in my track car, early before work and late nights! .Hope yours went to a good home!
