'73 911s prices
Hello all,
I haven't posted on PP for a long time. Been racing the Miata more than playing with the 911 for the past few years. At any rate, I'm curious what is the price range for a euro '73 911s. Assume no rust. [Is there even a market for our favorite toys after the past couple weeks? ![]() -Juan

Coupe or Targa?
Depending on condition and originality... $15,000 for a rusted basketcase ![]() to... $120,000 for under 50,000 miles, 100% original and complete ![]()

Sandy,
Thanks for the reply. This is a Coupe in good condition. Only rust is a small bubble on the door. Solid otherwise. Repaint in black, reupholstered sport seats. Largely original. I think mileage is over 100K, but obviously you can't really go by the odometer. Drives great. I did some suspension work when I bought it -- shocks, bushings, spring plates, setup. Does that narrow down the price range? -Juan

Engine complete, original with fuel injection +
Assuming it's matching numbers engine, chassis, tranny. Sport seats +++ Uncut door panels with door pockets? Original radio? Original steel front bumper? Overriders? How far back to your receipts go? Tool kit? Deep six" Fuchs? Why isn't the odometer accurate? I'd say your car is $40,000 - $65,000. I know that's kind of a huge spread but if you're ready to sell, I'd ask for the highest number possible. You can always drop your price. A VERY limited number of 1967-1973 911S cars are avail for sale. Plus the weak US dollar against the Euro helps you attract foreign buyers too. It's a seller's market for a '73 911S with more and more buyers lining up for early cars every day. Good luck with your sale! ![]()

Hey Sandy,
To answer your questions: Complete unhacked engine with MFI. Numbers non-matching but all correct S. Sport seats recovered in good condition. Door pocket broken off, but still have it. Visors original and ballooned out. Non-original radio. Original bumpers. Euro didn't have overriders. Receipts only to '95. Yes tool kit. Gas tank replaced with later vintage. Fuchs appear original, don't know if deep six. The odometer has presumably rolled over, so mileage would be unknown. -Juan

Is it the engine or the tranny that's from another S ?

Engine at least. Don't know about tranny. Engine is 2.4L S, i.e. correct vintage.

If the engine is a true 2.4 S engine, not an E or T "built to S specs", you're all good.
I mean, how many real 911S cars are for sale today around the world? It is a rare commodity, getting rarer (is that a word?). Ask for $55,000. See what happens. Good luck with your sale. ![]()

On the other hand, check out this auction on a perfectly restored 73 E --
Compare the details on your S to this car. Figure that if this ebay car was an S, not an E, the seller would be getting at least $25,000-$35,000 more.
