84 Turbo Look w 240k

What kind of value should one expect for a factory Red/cork 84 Turbo Look.

This is a factory car w the factory 930 suspension, brakes...

It is my friends car. It has about 240k miles, seats and head liner need to be replaced. Dash is pulling. There are other maintenance issues. Goind down the street is looks like a million bucks. Looking closer you can see nicks and scratches but not damage or dents.

Car has never been modified or bastardized.

Has 7&8/16 Fuchs, new front rotors and pads, limited slip transmission with weak first gear syncro. Holds all gears and makes no funny noises. Has some oil leaks. Looked underneath and looks very solid with no corrosion. One of the oil cooler lines is pinched from a jack. Starts easy, runs and pulls strong.

Would be a great basis for an IROC, RSR back date, EFI turbo conversion, or race car.

He dose have to sell it. I am interested but already have a 85 normal I bought this year that I love so ether one may be available.

Car is in Sacramento. What is the verdict.

Thanks.

Cheap. A non turbolook in this condition is likely a $7K car. Maybe you throw a few extra bucks because its a widebody?

It sounds like, for whatever project you have in mind, serious money will be needed to rehabilitate the car... Paint is what, $5K? LSD will need a rebuild, trans a rebuild.. Motor, depending on PPI results could be in trouble too..The Fuchs are so small and hard to find tires for you will likely sell them (Theres $1K back to you)

And as with all internet banter, you get what you paid for it

A good paint job in minimal body work will run around 15K then 2K for a tranny rebuilt and 8-10K for an engine rebuild. So you're right projects get pricey before you even start to buy the fun stuff.

If you are looking for an 84 Turbo look wide body I have mine for sale. Look on Autotrader for AT-F1758B0
