'71 T Targa

History as I know it:

Came from Atlanta. Summer driver 2000 till '06. Sat since then. Needs paint, but body is solid. Unknown miles. 16,6x7 Fuch's. Highback seats. Crane optical pickup in dist. Webers.

Not a lot to go on I know, but what's it worth? Anyone have the latest early car market place report?

Looks like she's in fairly decent shape. What's the original color? Any details on the engine? Any work done besides the S shroud and webers? Engine type?

Just a rough guess, but I would probably pay around $5k. Maybe more if she ran and had good compression.

Paint code is 8010-H or "Silver Metallic". I see no signs of silver though. Everything is 'red'. Inside of the doors, trunk, engine bay, under the window trim, it's all red.

I don't have any additional information on the engine, but I should at least get the numbers. I also have 'S' side trim.

Dash has a crack, and the speaker 'grill' is rough.

Well today was an interesting day, for me anyway. People have been asking for the engine #, and to be totally honest I didn't even know what it was. I never asked for it when I bought it, or even checked that it matched the car.

It turns out the engine doesn't match my T, and the red 'S' shroud isn't just the shroud. Who would have guessed that someone would put an S motor in a lowly T... :-) I know I never would have...

So, what, if anything does this do to the value?

Anyone interested in an 'S' in T's clothing?

is it gone yet and does it start up and run? I didn't see where this has been answered and was wondering.

Well; the checks in the mail, so it looks like it's gone.
