Valuation of 1970 911E
I need to get an answer soon, but don't have pics yet. I'll find some pics from Sears Point when I get home later.
First, it has a salvage title, although I don't know why. No evidence of any wrecks. It's white (was originally sepia brown), good, straight body, no dents. No rust. Really! Good paint job, looks great from 20 feet. Just has a few dings and chips. Has a 1978 3.0 with Webers, 20/21 cams, oil-fed tensioners. Less than 10,000 miles on full rebuild. Cams installed by TRE Motorsports. I bought the engine from TRE, but someone else rebuilt the bottom end - someone Dave at TRE trusts. HP said to be about 240, but not confirmed. Original tranny. No oil leaks. SSI exhaust. Car has been stripped down to about 2100 lbs, has roll bar. Interior: nice Recaros, but could use a carpet kit. New Bilstein street shocks all around. Two sets of wheels/tires for street and track (Fuchs for street, phone dials for track, since they fit wider tires) PO raced the car exclusively, now a driver for Flying Lizard (Johannes van Overbeek).

it's worth what you want to pay for it, sum of the parts,
it has zero intrinsic value as a 1970 911E............

$8K...$10K...$12K ? ...difficult to appraise. My gut says that although the powertrain is probably a great performer, the non-matching number and non-model-type engine, and the car's current status as part street/part stripped for track status + salvage title would narrow the market for this car.

I agree with the prior post. Given the machinations if you buy this don't reasonably expect to sell it. Way too narrow a market given the strange engine for the car. Buy it, drive it and never expect to sell it.
