Is this 1980 993tt clone for real?

So many words and long story of the history but it just sounds a bit strange. So could it be a good deal?

I'm not really picky about originality so a modded carrera might do it with lower taxes and good bang for the buck.

Wow thats a lot to read- without seeing it and driving it I would be afraid - a modified car - any car is a matter of taste- this one looks nice but i suspect he is looking for about 30K and as his ad says there still is a lot of 80s technology in that car.

While I have nothing against modified cars and have in fact bought several -this car is very much non original.

At 30K in today's market one can buy a very nice 911 --a well sorted one at that. If you gotta have a turbo and have to have that look ( my very favorite of all the air cooled looks by the way) then not so much.

Not that resale will matter but this car will only sell to a very select group --most Pelicans will tell you to run but this car could be a very fun toy - or a very bad trip. so get a good Porsche guy to evaluate the work.

He's been trying to sell that car for almost 2 years now. I believe he paid about $80k from the "original" builder. You could buy a 993TT (and have $$$ leftover) for what he has in it. I'd take if for $25k.

The add says the original seller quoted $70-80k for original 993tts so I doubt the current owner payed that much. Biggest problem with these kind of cars is that when something stops working you have no help from forums as it's custom work no one knows. Shops don't wan't to work these kind of cars either.

Ask him. He paid much more than the $30k he's selling for now.

I agree with you guys. It has been so-o-o extensively modified, that I would almost treat it like a car with a salvage title. I would be very leery of buying the car online unless I could get it in writing that the purchase is dependent upon an extensive inspection of all electrical, mechanical, brake, fuel and suspension systems.
The car has been on eBay forever. It's been on my watch list for nearly a year. Visually, I think it's a very nice looking car, but unless you can go there and look at the car and drive it, risk far out weighs any gain.

Geez, we should be charging him to read the Item Description. Imagine the worst ever written resume of an automobile, if there were such a thing, this one would garner first place.
