You probably couldn't build it with what is on it for less than 40K.

I think if it goes for 30K it is a good deal as a sum of its parts.

It looks like a really fun car with lots of character, and if it is something you want it is probably a lot cheaper to buy this one than to try to build it.

Do some Internet searching... this particular "tantamount" car has been for sale for quite awhile now...

Cheers

Thanks folks

Spoke with the owner, who is also a dealer. He won't part with the car for under 40K (or so he says).

I wished him luck and moved on,

Vin

uugh..

Honestly, 2 minutes into the telephone conversation I started to think this was not the seller/car for me. Frankly, I could not get an answer to "how much will you sell this car for?" after several attempts.

The closest we got was "it is on my website for 75K" followed by "I won't sell for less than 40K" 10 minutes later.

While it looks like a nice car, I'm of the opinion it is not 40K worth of nice. Time is precious, and haggling with a seller when we are miles apart is not my idea of a good time.

For someone with a bunch of free time and who is willing to jump through his hoops, this may be a nice fit.

40K will buy a real RS;

I know you can argue that an RS America is not a real RS but still it's alot of car and it's the real deal. I'd love to try a real 73 thought.

ugh

I don't like dealing with used car dealers for reasons such as these...another example of a used car guy stinking up the rep of used car guys
