ha ha. Now the great Pelican hunt. Who's got a white '72T with MFI in Fort Collins?

Yep. He doesn't want a lot of questions. Kinda hard to avoid though when you describe your car in just 3 sentences.
I'm sure he'll expect a pretty "reasonable" penny for it though.

I've only met a few Pelicans that I didn't like in person, but frankly when it comes to buying cars or parts, many pelicans are cheap a$$ nitpickers. I wouldn't sell my car on here either.

I understand where this guy is coming from. He's gotten 30 lowball emails "I saw on Pelican that this car is worth..." and tons of tire kickers.

It happens to independent repair shops too. "You want how much to install/fix XYZ? I saw on Pelican, all you need to do is..., should only take 2 hours. THis guy in CA..."

I'm welding SC flares on my car this weekend. Not sure how much it would cost, but when I first looked at a few threads on Body & Paint, looked like a 1 day job. And the actual cutting and welding is pretty easy and with a fully prepped car, doable in 10 hours. Disassembly, what you find on disassembly, what you need to take care of on disassembly, the care needed to do a good job, get the job done and then reassembly...I can see why this is a high dollar job pretty easily vs. just getting bodysaw and MIG out for the day.

My response from joe aka "goldchains911@gmail.com"

I jumped on this add since the car is local to me. The first response I got was "sorry no pelicans" so I sent him a rather terse response and this is what I received back

"fully aware that you are selling and not buying
don't have any interest in dealing with pelican looky-loos
they are a club of picture collectors"

Well not sure what his beef is but I have money in my pocket looking for a nice street car...too bad he won't see a dime of it from me.

AND I do get Matt's response - not hard to figure out...but worth a try anyways

This car is the subject of a fraud thread on Early S here. Buyer beware!

I would have to drive a car like that, and get a PPI to boot. After going through enough cars, I just want to see under the cam covers.

Silly Me.

I have had no problems selling three 911's here on Pelican. I think I got top dollar for the 73 "T" that I sold a month ago. Yes I got a few low baller's but I had three offers less than $500 from what I sold it for. And might have been able to get even more, but the money was wired to me right away and the car picked up in a timely manner. I will sell again here if I get another car to sell! Now if I could just get rid of the two fiberglass front bumpers I have!

"This" car is a '72. That thread discusses a '69 and a '70...
