It's my understanding that dealers have to pay for an annual subscription for CarFaxand it's a bit pricey. But, once they're in it's an all you can eat buffet.

If you offer someone $10 paid via paypal I bet you'll find a taker, though.

CARFAX has changed as they no longer offer the unlimited checks for 30 days. Instead it is 6 checks and then you need to pay another $45. Because of that change, no one would want to waste one of their record checks for a complete stranger.

I don't think it's a big deal any longer as CarFax changed the way they do business. They used to charge a flat fee for a certain period of time, with the stipulation you only use these for your own personal search. Now they charge for each search (or five), so there's no real "freebies" any more.

Regardless, the answer to the question remains the same: "No".
