RS clone on ebay
What does everyone think of this car/price?
Do the much later suspension/brakes devalue it? Anybody know the history of it? My apologies if it has been discussed before-I couldn't find mention of it. Thanks, db The ebay item # is 110584931730 For some reason it won't display from this link:

No Will, I think that links to ebay listings are disabled from this site-at least that is all I can figure out. You have to enter the item number on ebay and then it comes up.
Why can't we link directly-anybody know?

No opinions? I am not in the market for it so I am not in a position to be offended...
I think it looks like a very nicely done car but is it worth that much? ![]()

IMO, any easily-removable parts (like aluminum rear arms) don't detract significantly from the value. But why worry about 'genuine-ness' on a T chassis, anyway?
I set out to build something like this 7 years ago, with an un-numbered 7R case and all RS-spec parts. It is possible to spend a good deal less than $53K to build one of these, but the devil is in the details. If a 'realie' is potentially worth $400K, then a clone is potentially worth 15-20% of that money. I'll go back to something said here many times: it will be an emotional buy for someone; not necessarily a logical one.

This car is going to draw the same kind of buyer that a Singer 911 will draw. There are guys who love to customize a car to their own personal perfect car with their own two hands. Then there are guys who are willing to pay someone else to build it for them. And just want the finished product sitting in their garage.
The difference in price is largely accounted for in the labor hours. One guy puts his own labor in. The other pays someone else for their time.
