Accident 2004 German AutoFest......Remember??

Geez. I am selling a friends car and in researching - found this thread from the German AutoFest in 2004. The black 1989 Speedster motor is in the car I am selling - but the pictures make my belly and wallet hurt just looking at it all.

IIRC, nobody had any insurance. Not the truck driver nor the store. I think some of the cars were on consignment as well. It was a pretty big financial hit, but they got past it.

Third hand story: trailer high-centered on RR tracks. Driver called police, police called RR; engineer was notified miles before the intersection, but train could not stop in time.

I was there.....cheap ass dealer hired an open car hauler. Asshat driver turned on the wrong street and high centered the rig.

If he would have gone one more street there was a flat crossing and an on ramp for 101 south.

Train went bam, all the cars went flying.......

When I was laoding up I saw them doing also....my thought was....open trailer, big ticket rides....hope they don't have far to go. They didn't....he was stuck within a 1/2 mile from the exit of the GAF.

That makes me want to cry, not only bad for the owner(s), but a couple of pieces of history lost!

There is no black 1989 Speedster pictured. The black 911 from the 1980's is a regular cabriolet not a speedster. Just a point of clarification it does not make the sin commited in the pictures any less offensive.

I remember reading about that in John Draneas' column in SCM and the legal issues involved. Its still sad to see the pictures today. Anybody have any info on how it worked out for the owners?
