I just got it today. Sepia is an interesting color people beat your door down for.

A 72 T IMO is one of the best Ts you can buy. Wish I all ready didn't have two cars.

I would be interested. PM if you'd like. Is the car in NC?

Colors...

I actually like sepia. I'd take it over a more common color any day, but I really dig the bright signal colors from that era.

That should be an easy flip. I don't think you need any luck in the sale, I just hope the '72 finds a caring owner.

I ended up passing on the car. You can find it here, but I think the seller is going to want more than the listed price posted at this point. Best of luck to whom ever gets it....

Printing out items off of the computer is fine but it can't do several things.

Provide the smell of an old car magazine, the way it feels in ones hands, the other articles in the magazine to broaden ones horizons.

When I hold and read the old mags it is like putting myself in that time.............

Like reading a real book vs. one of the new electric devises with hundreds of books stored, it just isn't the same.

guess I'm not cool...................

Another tidbit I have noticed. Where once P cars were lined up for repair at the local indie shops it is now BMW's.............I know what I see. Like math, my eyes don't lie.

Its true. I don't see as many 911s on the road anymore, at least the air cooled ones.
I'm sure there are many reasons.

Plenty at the track and events but just not on the road. Makes you wonder..

Not really. Modern cars are better. There is a limited number of people (i.e. Pelicaneers) who want to ride a time machine back to an earlier, simpler time.

I don't think so. I think the NC seller decided his asking price was too low. I do not think Renntrade and the NC seller are the same. I've been wrong before, tho.

Just "midwifed" a '73 S purchase two days ago. Nice driver Targa for $58K.

I just find it strange he says he "just picked up" and "picked up today" the car, yet in his next post says "he passed"? Did he pick it up then send it back?

You're right. Although sometimes I'll tell folks I've picked up a car -- meaning I've picked up representation of the car. But I make that clear. I think he may have gotten a go-ahead to sell the car at a net price and then the actual owner changed his mind. Happens.

"I picked up this listing today"...is how an honest person says it.

I may send funds to someone who has possession of a car. I wouldn't send funds to a "broker".

CowSheet?

Until yesterday I would have called "cow sheet". However, I found a 911T yesterday and showed up at sellers door a half hour later with check in hand. The car was there, but the seller would not answer the door. I think he decided to sell it for more as he claims over the phone too busy.

Somebody did that in LA about 6 years ago -- advertised a one owner '73 E coupe in Viper Green for $15K or so. By the time I called, he'd had something like 40 calls and was clearly angry about the pressure he felt he was getting from prospects. He soon removed the ad, and I never heard any more about the car. I think some folks are less than diplomatic -- or even smart -- on the phone. I've been looking at cars and had people call while I was there stating the car was worth far more than asking... presumably so they could later come by and lowball. Lots of sharks out there.

You know what the new craiglists scheme I've recently encountered is? Buyer sees a good deal, sends an email or places a phone call and then flags the ad blocking all other potential buyers. With floating IPs on smartphones one person can log on repeatedly and singlehandedly get an ad flagged.

This happened with a local car. It had some issues and the seller was dumping the car for way less than it was worth. They didn't know any better and had no mechanical skills. The "buyer" said he'd come by the next morning at 10am with cash for the full asking price. The seller noticed that their ad was flagged but figured they had it sold so no big deal.

The next day, 10am came and went. No buyer. They called him. voicemial. They called him again 2 hours later. voicemail. At noon they relisted the car. 12:05 the buyer calls with some cock and bull story about how he would be right over but that he could only come up with $1000 less than the asking price. They informed him that they had relisted the car and would consider the revised offer. Less than 30 minutes later their ad was flagged and gone again.

It was about this time I walked by their house with my dog (It was one of my neighbors and the car belongs to their son). We talked about what was wrong and what was going on, and I told them to take the car off the market. I helped the kid fix his car over the next two weekends and we saved one from the wolves.

Some of the flippers out there are ruthless...

Interesting. It takes multiple people flagging an ad to get it taken down.
