need insurance value for 1973 911T
I insured my 1973 911T for $8k, but I have had it for nine years and it's probably time to update the coverage just in case.
It's a tangerine 911T repainted original color in early 1980s. Dash is uncracked. Interior is rough, some interior lights don't work, clock doesn't work, that sort of thing. Carpet is very very worn. Seats are in good condition. Headliner is white but very dirty and the sunroof zipper is sewn up. The left sunroof wind deflector broke off a couple years ago. I have the door pockets and original radio in a box. Windshield should be replaced due to hazing and pits. Motor was rebuilt several years ago by prior owner with Webers due to S crank, S pistons, E cam profile, MSD ignition. Engine compartment is not particularly clean or detailed. Oil leaks very slightly. Motor runs good and feels strong. Transmission feels a little sloppy but works in the agricultural sense. 30,000 miles on the motor since rebuild, car has 95k. I replaced shocks all around when I bought the car. The Porsche shop always tells me the left side can't quite be aligned to spec because the tower is off, but it doesn't show any signs of collision. They say old cars eventually sag (don't know if true). Paint is okay but shows some crazing. There is a spot of rust under one corner of the windshield and the seal leaks. Another wrinkle inside the fuel filler. No rust otherwise except surface where the spare tire rubs, it was checked very well when I bought it and it's been stored inside since and kept almost entirely out of the rain. What should my coverage be? |

Still sounds like a $10K car to me. Pics help a lot in evaluating a car. Knowing it needs rust repair, paint, interior, trans work etc would make me think its a lower value car.
Is this for a "big name" ins co or a specialty one like Hagerty? Is this a regular use car or limited use car?

You could not replace that car for less than $15-17K, so that's what I'd insure it for.
