Would like your opinion I have a 86 -930 and a 73.5 Targa. Which do you see excelling in value over the years. Today the value is about the same,Some where around $30,000.Just Wondering Thanks

Both have great value.

I'd say the 930 will be the stellar car to have in the near future.
In fact I am on the search to add one to the stable.
Supercar.

i think the 930. the early 911s have had their day in the sun/price appreciation, and the momentum is moving to the 930s. some people are now buying 3.0s and spending huge $$ for full nut and bolt restorations.

The 930 is an icon, the targa, not so much. Do a search as to #'s made of both and i think the awnser will be clear.

I agree...

No question, the 930 (if it's in decent shape).

A 930 has "presence," an early "T" Targa is a nice driver, but early 930's are serious cars with a near cult following.

The 930. Not a 930 bodied 911, but a real, fire-breathing, turbo car. One of the great icons of the past 40 or 50 years and, as a number of market experts have recently suggested, likely to increase in value.

Why does everyone think that 930's are "fire-breathing"? More like a ton of smoke w/a very small amount of fire and yes, I do own one.

Keep the 73.5. That car will know no boundary. I still kick myself for selling mine.

+1k to keep the 930.

Cellison hit the nail on the head with his statement above:

I can't foresee that the value of 73.5's will increase any further in the future, but a genuine 930 will always be something very special (=rare) for enthusiasts.

Good luck with selling the right one - and keeping the better one of the two!

Hugo930. Hmmm...do you actually drive your 930? Yes, they are fire-breathing, my friend, and mine doesn't smoke at all. Perhaps you need a good mechanic.
