Shipping

I need to ship a 911 T from Wisconsin to Missouri. I would appreciate any leads on a good shipper. I'll go get it if I have to, but I've heard shipping may be about the same price.

Thanks,

Tom

Always cheaper to ship it. try graham at amerifreight 678 369 4122, I've always had good experiences but don't cheap out and try to save a few hundred on the economy plan, just pay the max price and it will be picked up next day.

Car Hauler

There is quite a difference between inside and outside transportation. If the car is project as mine was I chose outside. If better than a project inside protects the car.

Good Luck.

So what about open vs closed transport with a Targa? This is a 1971. The top looks ok in the pictures, but I don't know how water tight it is.

Enclosed is only for show cars, don't even consider it unless your car is worth $100k or money is no object to you.

?????
I got probably a dozen quotes when I had my car shipped from Cape Cod to Indy and enclosed ended up being about a $200 premium over open. That was on Intercity which really does offer premium service. My car certainly isn't worth $100k but its worth enough to me to justify the extra expense for the peace of mind. Intercity also offers a discount to rennlist members. Just contact them through the 911 forum on that site.

Enclosed vs Open

Your car will be much safer and cleaner on the inside. I received a 66 Porsche from Houston,Texas to Pasadena, CA. covered in diesel smoke and road grim with oil from the car above it. If you car is on the bottom it is subject to cars above leaking on it. The weather is also a consideration. Time is another factor in the price. Understand there is a network that drivers can pick up requests on the internet from brokers. Going east to west is cheaper than west to east from what I understand.

If time is of the essence two drivers expedites the delivery time. A single driver has required rest stop.

My car needs a bare metal paint job after extensive body reconstruction so I chose open. I don't think I would do that with a decent car.

Intercity is one of the best.

Good Luck.
