911T engine

I've been on the lookout for a 911T engine to put into a 914 that I'm turning into a "6". I found a 1971 that does not have the fan or alternator. I have done business in the past with the seller and he's a guy that I trust. What do you think a running 911T engine cost? Thanks!

Honestly with the info you have provided any answer will be a guess or a wide range.

Hard to say. a 2.2 T with Zeniths or Webers? IMO $2500-3000 (a bit more with Webers and good compression/leakdown).

This gives me a good baseline to work from. He is asking $2500 with Zeniths (I think). I'll take a compression gauge along to see the engine. I'm feeling like his asking price is fair if it's in good condition.

As a point of reference, I was considering selling my 2.4T as a longblock. No compression test, but I'd assume the #s wouldn't be great - it was tired and smoking when I pulled it, so needs a rebuild. I did some poking around at what others were asking for similar condition engines, and I came up with about $1500.

So I'd say with good compression #s, $2500 for a 2.2 with Zeniths is a fair price.
