1984 porsche 911 turbo look

I am thinking of picking one up for $18000.
It is in good shape 102000 miles but doesn't have original wheels (I think they are replica of twist turbo wheels)
What do you think ?

Without any idea of what the car looks like (inside and out) or how it runs,
that price could be a bargain or an incredible rip-off.

Pictures, details (lots of them) are sort of required for any kind of serious discussion of value.

Turbo look Carreras are a dime a dozen. Factory built Turbo Look Carreras are fairly rare and worth a big premium over the standard narrow body. It can be hard to tell if it was factory optioned as a TL. Documentation will be key.

The aftermarket wheels are not an encouraging sign.

Ok I went too fast , I knew more details were needed.
I'm not a Porsche expert obviously but am quite familiar with cars in general for working on them for a living.
The car felt solid and drives straight.
Engine and transmission felt good too.
No leaks.
Interior is in very decent shape and doesn't really need anything , new door pocket, no cracks in dash , just a small tear in headliner.
Paint is good but shows sign of a repaint which is always concerning but I don't see sign of accident and carfax is clean.
The car is supposed to be a factory turbo look and so far it looks like one but I am still doing some research to make as sure as possible.

If it is a factory M491, $18,000 makes it a very good buy.

An 84 M491 car has nothing to do with an 89 Speedster. The M491 cars draw a nice premium to the market on a standard body. Take a look at the brakes for starters, which calipers does it have? Most conversions dont have the 930 calipers so its a fairly easy tell tail. As others have said unless its areal POS then 18k for a true M491 car is a steal.

Okay tough guy, tell us what you think 1984 M491 Coupe has to do with a 1989 Speedster?

I have had several dozen air cooled 911's BFD. I have probably appraised another 100 or so.
